  • The client I made this for brought in a collection of jewelry that she no longer wore. They were items given to her by her husband over the 30 years of their marriage.<br /> <br /> I melted down all the gold, made it all the same karat and made all the parts you see that are gold in this piece.<br /> <br /> The Sterling wire and plate were purchased from the refiner, hand shaped, twisted, soldered and assembled to create this paper weight for her husbands desk at work. Coincidentally, (or she planned it that way) she had EXACTLY 30 diamonds in the pieces of jewelry we disassembled to create this piece, which are set into the numbers.
